The Play School annuals shown in the first gallery below are of the BBC TV children's series which although started in the 1960s, only appeared in annuals from 1981. The second gallery shows the Playschool annuals issued from 1971 to 1983 and these had absolutely nothing to do with the BBC TV series. This was a series of annuals printed by World Distributors for young children and as can be seen from the 1981 issue onward, was retitled "The Original Playschool Annual" because of the BBC ones of the same years. Notably the title is one word whereas the BBC TV series is two separate words. There is very little information about these 'original' Playschool annuals, with only one reference on the net that there may have been a comic from which these annuals are derived.
