The first Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 1988 titled "Die Happy Hippos".

There were some 'little brother' versions of this series issued with a bubble gum.

The second Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 1990, titled "Happy Hippos im Fitness-Fieber" (Happy Hippos in Fitness Fever) and untitled in the UK. The series was released again in Italy as "I Simpatici Happypotami" (The Likeable Happy Hippos) in 1993.

     

     

The third Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 1992, titled "Die Happy Hippos auf dem Traumschiff" (Happy Hippos on the Dream Ship) and generally titled as "Happy Hippos Holiday" elsewhere.

     

     

The fourth Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 1994, titled "Die Happy Hippo Company" (The Happy Hippo Company) .

The fifth Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 1997, titled "Die Happy Hippo Hollywood Stars" (The Happy Hippo Hollywood Stars).

The sixth Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 1999, titled "Die Happy Hippo Hochzeit" (Happy Hippo Wedding). This set featured wedding guests from other regular Kinder handpainted series including two elephants, two crocos, two penguins, one dino and one teddy.

In 2000 there was a Maxi-Egg issue of the wedding featuring the bride and groom flying off in a plane.

The seventh Happy Hippos set in my collection is a series issued in Italy in 2001 titled just as "Happy Hippos" featuring a re-release of eight of the figures from the earlier "Happy Hippos Holiday" set using different colours.

The eighth Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in Germany in 2002, titled "Das Hipperium Spielt Verrückt" (which doesn't translate very well at Babel Fish but was essentially the Happy Hippos Star Wars series).

There was a Maxi-Egg issue of the Star Wars set featuring two hippos in a landspeeder.

The ninth Happy Hippos set in my collection is the series issued in 2009, titled "Happy Hippo Talent Show".
