Callan
was a UK action/drama ITV television series that ran for four seasons
between 1967 and 1972 starring Edward Woodward as David Callan. The
series was written by James Mitchell who wrote all the novels. There
were five original Callan novels and two short story collections in
total (list at bottom of gallery), the last published
as recently as 2015. The first novel (originally published in 1969)
was 'A Magnum for Schneider' which was subsequently re-published as
'A Red File for Callan' and later as just 'Callan' to tie in with the
1974 movie of the same name.
