The
Clangers was a BBC children's TV series that ran for two seasons (total
26 episodes plus one special) from 1968 to 1972. Other than two books
I know about published by Hamlyn in 1970 (plus the annuals),
it wasn't until 1992 that a series of books was published by Little
Brown & Co. A new series was broadcast in 2015.
