The
Darling Buds of May was a UK comedy drama produced by Yorkshire Television
that ran for three seasons between 1991 and 1993. It was an adaptation
of H. E. Bates' novel "The Darling Buds of May", published
in 1958, and its four sequels. Penguin Books re-published all the novels
with TV-themed covers in 1990, along with an omnibus book "The
Pop Larkin Chronicles" containing all five novels. In 2021 a new
series entitled 'The Larkins' was produced
by ITV that ran for one season of seven episodes with two further seasons
confirmed. Penguin re-published the first book with the new series tie-in
cover.
