The
Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin was a BBC comedy television series
starring Leonard Rossiter that ran for three seasons from 1976 to 1979,
based on a series of novels written by David Nobbs. A fourth series
titled 'The Legacy of Reginald Perrin', also written by Nobbs, followed
in 1996 and published by Mandarin Books. The first book was originally
titled 'The Death of Reginald Perrin' but was later re-published with
the title 'The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin' to tie in with the
TV series. The second series was novelised as 'The Return of Reginald
Perrin' and the third series as 'The Better World of Reginald Perrin'.
The books have been published a number of times with TV tie in covers.
A re-imagined series simply titled 'Reggie Perrin' was made by the BBC starring Martin Clunes that ran for two seasons from 2009 to 2010. I am not aware of any tie-in novels to this later rendition. ![]() ![]() |
