Porridge was a BBC TV comedy series starring Ronnie Barker as Norman Stanley Fletcher that ran for three seasons and two Christmas specials from 1974 to 1977. This was followed by a feature film 'Porridge' in 1979. There were three novels of the series published by BBC Books and a novelisation of the film titled 'Porridge the Inside Story' by Pan Books. In 1978, prior to the feature film, a sequel series titled 'Going Straight' ran for one season and was novelised by BBC Books. Many years later a new sequel series also titled 'Porridge' featuring Kevin Bishop as Nigel Norman Fletcher, the grandson of Norman, ran for one season of seven episodes in 2016. I do not know of any books based on this last sequel.
