Spartacus
was a drama series that ran for three seasons plus one prequel mini-series.
The first season was called 'Blood and Sand' and featured Andy Whitfield
as Spartacus. When Andy Whitfield became ill preventing filming of a
second series, a prequel mini-series, 'Gods of the Arena', followed
instead in 2011. Andy Whitfield died in 2011 so the role was re-cast
and Liam McIntyre starred as Spartacus for the remaining two seasons,
'Vengeance' (2012) and 'War of the Damned' (2013). Two books have been
published by Titan Books based on the original series.
