Z-Cars
was a very popular police TV series which ran for twelve seasons from
1962 to 1978. I know of only four paperbacks published, the first in
1962 by May Fair Books Ltd, the second two by Trust Books (with all
publishing profits being donated to the Oxfam charity) and one by Consul
Books. There was also hardback versions of the two Consul novels published
by Severn House Publishers in 1975. There were several spin-off series
featuring characters from Z-Cars, notably "Softly
Softly", "Barlow at Large" and "Softly Softly
: Taskforce".
