From 1997, Virgin Books no longer had the licence to publish Dr Who material, so they continued their "New Adventures" range of books without the Doctor, concentrating instead on their creation Professor Bernice Summerfield who had been a companion of the 7th Doctor thoughout most of the "New Adventures" series. All of these are in my collection |

character of Bernice Summerfield was not laid to rest. In 2000, Big
Finish Productions (licenced to produce new original audio Dr Who material)
started publishing further Bernice Summerfield adventure stories, initially
in paperback and latterly in hardback format only.
