Following
the success of the five Planet of the Apes movies (pictures of novels
below) came two TV series, "Planet of the Apes" and "Return
to the Planet of the Apes". Award Books published four books from
the first TV series, and Ballantine Books published three from the second
series. The fourth book in the first series is extremely hard to find.
In 2001, Planet of the Apes was re-made as a new standalone movie which saw the publication of a novelisation and subsequent sequels, including some younger reader novels from Harper Books. In 2011, Planet of the Apes was re-launched again with a new sequence of movies. The first was 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' which, to my knowledge, was never novelised, then in 2014 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' was released and novelised and in 2017 'War for the Planet of the Apes' was released and novelised. In 2017 a new book was published titled 'Tales From the Forbidden Zone' and was followed by four omnibus editions of earlier novels. In 2018 'Death of the Planet of the Apes' was published. A new sequel to the 2011 film trilogy titled 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' was released in 2024 and I am waiting to see if there is a novelization.  =
