US Hagar the Horrible Comic Strip Books Gallery

Hagar the Horrible was written by Dik Browne from 1973 until his retirement in 1988. From 1989 his son, Chris Browne took over the comic strip.

Four different publishers were busy producing Hagar the Horrible books in the US. Charter Books, Jove Books, Tempo Books and Tor Books. Quite a few titles were reprinted between the publishers, sometimes with a different cover. Publishing years also overlapped. I also have a single book published by Grosset and Dunlap in my collection which is a larger paperback. I do not know if they produced any others. I have also recently acquired a giant size book published by Comicana Books and a landscape book "The Very Best of Hagar the Horrible" published in 1982 under the banner of Wallaby Books, a division of Simon and Schuster (Pocket Books). I have since discovered there was at least one more of the Wallaby Books.
