Brookside
was the Channel 4 soap that ran for 21 years between 1982 and 2003 and
was a major rival to the BBC's Eastenders
and ITV's Coronation Street. Three
numbered novels were published, the first (titled as 'Brookside 1 -
Moving In') published in 1982 by Channel 4 Books, was intended to be
the first in a range of numbered books which didn't appear. Later, in
1986, Channel 4 Books started again, issuing two numbered books ('Changing
Lives' and 'Weathering the Storm'). After the famous 'body under the
patio' saga, at least four further books were published in 1994/1995
based around the Jordache family and other characters in the soap at
that time.
