K9
is a robotic dog who first appeared in the Tom Baker episode "The
Invisible Enemy" in 1977 and remained a companion until his departure
in 'The Invasion of Time' in 1978. Immediately following that episode,
the Doctor unpacked 'K9 Mark II' who remained a companion until his
departure in "Warrior's Gate" in 1981. K9 Mark III appeared
in the single spin-off episode "K9 and Company" in 1981 as
a gift to former companion Sarah-Jane Smith, with subsequent appearances
in "The Five Doctors" in 1983 and his destruction in the 2006
episode "School Reunion". At the end of "School Reunion"
Sarah-Jane was gifted K9 Mark IV who went on to appear on and off in
The Sarah
Jane Adventures.
A new version of K9 was introduced in his own non-Doctor Who series in 2010 for one season of 26 episodes. I have all these books in my collection. |
